 Bus transport to and from school

There are a number of buses that service the school. Most also service Macquarie College. To find what is available visit trip planner, click the "refine" option  then include school buses, it will show connecting routes and times. Our school bus stop is "Newcastle Rudolf Steiner School".

Here are the relevant Newcastle Buses timetables (as of 25/2/2021) with the Newcastle Waldorf School stop highlighted. Some of these services are only applicable for either the morning or afternoon service. Some work for both.

Bus pass applications are completed online by parents/guardians here:

You will need to submit a new application if you are:
  • applying for a school travel pass for the first time
  • requesting an additional pass as a result of a new shared parental responsibility situation (e.g. joint custody).
You will need to re-apply or update your details if the student has a current free school travel pass and:
  • The student is changing school or campus
  • The student has changed address
  • The student has repeated a year
  • You've received an expiry notification.
Applications must be completed by the student's parent or legal guardian if the student is aged under 16 years. Students 16 years and over must complete the application form themselves. Free school travel passes are subject to eligibility criteria.
Safety around schools Road rules in school zones (from the LakeMac Ranger - see link or below)
Pedestrian crossings
You cannot stop within 20 metres before a pedestrian crossing or 10 metres after a pedestrian crossing unless there is a control sign permitting parking.
Minimum penalty: $439 and two demerit points
Double parking
You may not stop on the road alongside to another vehicle at any time even to drop off or pick up passengers.
Minimum penalty: $330 and two demerit points
Parking on a verge
You cannot stop or park on a verge area (footpath, nature strip, dividing strip or kerb).
Minimum penalty: $183 and two demerit points
Slow down
Stick to the 40km/h speed limit in a school zone and look out for children who may be about.
