Thank you for considering Newcastle Waldorf School for your child’s education. We’ve designed our enrolment process to be welcoming, transparent and supportive, giving you time to explore whether our community feels right for your family.
Below is a step-by-step guide to help you navigate the journey ahead. We’re here to support you at every stage.
STEP ONE
Send us an enquiry
Begin by letting us know you're interested. Share a little about your family and your child through our enquiry form, and we'll be in touch to guide you through what comes next. You're also welcome to attend one of our Open Days first to experience the school, meet teachers, and see our learning spaces in action.
STEP TWO
Admissions Pool Process
Once we receive your enquiry, we'll review it and get back to you to let you know whether there's currently an opening in the class you're interested in.
If a place is available: We'll invite you to visit the school. This is your opportunity to walk through our classrooms, meet members of our teaching team, ask questions, and get a feel for daily life in our community. We encourage families to take their time during this step, there's no rush, just space to explore, wonder, and reflect.
If the class is currently full: We'll be in touch to let you know and provide details about joining our Admissions Pool if you'd like to be contacted when a place becomes available. You're also warmly welcome to attend one of our Open Days in the meantime so you can experience our learning environment and community firsthand.
A note about the Admissions Pool:
This isn't a traditional waiting list. When places open, we consider each application thoughtfully, with priority given to:
- Siblings of current students
- Families transferring from other Steiner schools
- Alumni connections
- Families with Steiner affiliations
- General applications
We understand this can feel uncertain, and we're committed to keeping you informed and connected throughout.
STEP THREE
Interview
If a place is available, we'll invite you and your child to meet with the Class Teacher (for Kindergarten or Primary) or Class Guardian (for High School). This conversation is an opportunity to discuss your child's unique needs and strengths, explore how Steiner education unfolds in practice, and ensure we can provide the right support for your child to flourish.
Following the interview, if it feels like a good fit for everyone, we'll move forward with the formal application process.
STEP FOUR
Your Formal Application and Welcome
Following a successful interview, we'll invite you to submit a formal enrolment application. This will be thoughtfully reviewed by our College of Teachers, who bring deep knowledge of child development and Steiner education to every decision.
If a place is offered, we'll reach out with all the details you need to accept and prepare. This is an exciting moment, we're thrilled to welcome your family!
From here, we'll guide you through practical next steps. And then, the journey truly begins. Your child will step into a learning environment designed to nurture their creativity, curiosity, and confidence. You'll become part of a community that values connection, collaboration, and shared purpose.
