Year 12 Biology students recently spent time in specialist biological laboratories at the University of Sydney and the University of Newcastle, gaining an invaluable glimpse into the world of contemporary science and higher education.
Across both visits, students participated in hands-on investigations into genetic profiling, biotechnology techniques and genetic disease. Working in real laboratory environments gave them the opportunity to deepen classroom learning through careful observation, practical inquiry and meaningful scientific discussion.
It was a joy to see our young people enter these learning spaces with maturity, confidence and capability. Experiences such as these help students see how the knowledge and skills they are developing can travel with them into future study, work and life.
Newcastle Waldorf School offers a fully registered and accredited HSC pathway for Years 11 and 12, with students able to pursue an ATAR or non-ATAR pathway. Learn more about our High School and Year 11 and 12 learning phases, or join us at an upcoming Open Day.
